Eligible Georgia Tech employees can apply for fall semester tuition assistance now through July 15.

Full-time faculty and staff have the following options:

Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) provides a tuition waiver to full-time, benefits-eligible employees who have worked for at least six months within the University System of Georgia.

Staff Tuition Reimbursement Assistance Program (STRAP) provides partial tuition reimbursement at any accredited private institution. Employees are eligible for STRAP if they have worked for at least 12 months at Georgia Tech.

Time worked in a temporary position does not count toward the eligibility requirement for either assistance program.

Application Process

Apply for school through the admissions office of the institution you plan to attend during their designated application dates.

Open a TAP or STRAP application via the Administrative Services portal.

List the courses you plan to take. If you are not sure, put your best guess (you can reach out via your application request to change it later).

Submit your application. It will automatically route for approval.

Please ensure your application is submitted and approved by July 15 at 5 p.m. Applications received after this date cannot be honored. A new application must be completed for each semester by the deadline. If the deadline falls on a holiday or weekend, the business day prior applies.

Starting June 15, 2024, eligible staff members can apply for education assistance through the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) and Staff Tuition Reimbursement Assistance Program (STRAP). All applications for TAP and STRAP must be completed and approved through the Administrative Services portal no later than 5 p.m., July 15. Late submissions will not be considered, so mark your calendars and get your applications in on time!

Beginning March 15, eligible employees are encouraged to apply for summer semester Education Assistance through the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) and Staff Tuition Reimbursement Assistance Program (STRAP). Please ensure your TAP or STRAP application is submitted and approved by April 15, no later than 5 p.m. Applications received after this date cannot be accepted.

TAP is offered by the University System of Georgia (USG) Board of Regents and provides a tuition waiver to full-time, benefits-eligible employees, both faculty and staff, who have worked for at least six months within the USG.

Time worked in a temporary position does not count toward the six-month eligibility requirement.
Eligible employees may seek approval to enroll in up to nine academic semester hours for each of the three designated semesters: Fall, Spring, and Summer.
Employees must apply by the TAP/STRAP application deadline to receive the waiver of tuition and mandatory fees.

STRAP is offered by Georgia Tech and provides partial tuition reimbursement for full-time staff (exempt and non-exempt) who have worked for at least 12 months at Georgia Tech.

Time worked in a temporary position does not count toward the 12-month eligibility requirement.
Eligible employees may seek approval to enroll in up to six academic semester hours for each of the three designated semesters: Fall, Spring, and Summer.
Employees must apply by the TAP/STRAP application deadline to be reimbursed for tuition.
Programs of study must be applicable to a career field at Georgia Tech.
